Special Dishes

Occasions such as weddings are almost certain to have meals such as the following:

Kabsah: Lamb cooked whole, either in an underground cooking pit or over the fire for several hours. Served with rice. A symbol of the host's generosity.

Luqaimat: Small balls of dough fried in hot oil. Very tasty, served with honey.

Aseeda Al-Tamar and Qorsan: Popular sweets consisting of brown and white dough, dates, ghee, and so on.

Saudi Coffee: Coffee with spices such as cardamom, saffron, and ginger. Each family makes its own unique mixture.
